Omaha Mutuals (48-21 .696 1st place in the Grand National Association) at
Kansas City Cowboys (35-34 .507 13 GB 4th place)

I called up SS Harry Coats (29-4.9) to be a backup infielder for the next 3 days. I wanted to recall Charlie Smith (25-5.6), but he is banged up. When he heals in 3 days or so, we'll send Harry back to Pottsville.

Tom Lee, Omaha (25-6.0) (R 16-6 2.13 6.7-1.9-4.4 H-BB-K/9) vs. Fred Barrow, K. C. (31-4.7) (R 13-18 3.15 10.5-1.3-4.3)

Won - 7 to 2

We made 11 hits, all singles, and 7 errors.

Tom Lee held Kansas City to 5 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3. He also had a hit, scored a run and knocked 1 in.

3B George Dominick (29-4.8) had 2 hits, stole a base, scored 2 runs and knocked 1 in. RF Hank Roberts (24-3.0) had 2 hits and an RBI and threw out to baserunners, one at home and one at third.

The loss was particularly costly for the Cowboys; they lost 2/3 of their starting outfield to injuries. RF Charlie Jeffers (33-4.8) tweaked his back making a catch and will be hurting for the next week or two, though he might be able to still play. CF Connie Frenette (28-4.7) strained his hip sliding on the bases and will be out for 6 weeks, which is almost the rest of the season. He is currently leading the Association in runs scored and triples.

Grand National Association Games:
Chicago (5) at Brooklyn (9): Nate Kendall (34-5.4) (7-14) over John Ritch (28-7.8) (7-13). Kendall allowed 10 hits, no walks and struck out 2. He also had 2 hits and 2 RBIs as a hitter. 1B Henry Young (29-5.7) had 3 hits, scored 3 runs and had 2 RBIs. SS Reuben Frohman (30-6.3) had 2 hits with a triple, scored a run and knocked in 3.

Liberty League Games:
St. Louis (2) at New York (6): Jack Roberts (31-6.1) (24-18) over Freddy Wood (27-6.3) (10-13). Roberts allowed 3 hits, no walks and struck out 3. He also had 2 hits and an RBI at bat. SS Jimmy Mark (38-4.9) had 2 hits with a double, scored a run and had 2 RBIs.

Detroit (9) at Cincinnati (6): Rufus Lee (32-3.9) (16-16) over John Stevens (26-8.2) (21-11). Lee allowed 8 hits, 1 walk and struck out 3. He also had a hit and an RBI as a batter. Stevens allowed 13 more hits than he did in his last outing, a no-hitter. CF Joe Kraus (26-7.9) had 3 hits with his 3rd home run of the season, stole a base and scored twice.
