If you're getting errors with WS_FTP Pro, then chances are, if you switched to another FTP program it wouldn't solve your problem directly. You probably need to fiddle with the FTP program settings for the site in order to get it to work. Wrong username, wrong path, etc.
A different program such as CuteFTP might make the task easier, though.
