Just because it has the same name, does not mean it really has any relation to the old league.
And even if you believe otherwise, that is a rather small issue that would probably require a big effort to fix.

Yeah, I didn't think it would pick up the history of the old league just because of a shared name, but it seems like that was the last bit of hope I had for this.
You say "new league" and "old league" and point out that there's no reason they should share histories just because they share a name, and in the case of something like the AA maybe that's true--you could argue that the one that began in 1969 was an entirely new league, separate from the one that ended in '62. But what if I want to simulate a league that's suspending operations for just a season or 2, either for financial reasons, or because there's a war on, or whatever?
Maybe it would require a big fix now, but in previous versions (definitely 12; not sure about 13-15) it
was possible to have a season that was 0 games long. I guess I'm just hoping to get definitive word from Markus or Matt that this isn't the case anymore, so that I know for sure that it's not just a bug, or me doing something wrong...
