The Atlantics again showed their weak form to their fans in July as they failed to get to .500 again. This time they finished with 5 wins and 7 losses during the month. The team continue to be the prop holding all the other teams up in the NL table as they sit 17 games behind the leaders.
The batting was very up and down all month to score 58 runs. The batter in the best form during the month was First Baseman Oscar Walker. Walker came up to bat 45 times in 12 game starts to hit the ball 15 times. He scored 5 runs and 7 RBI's for an average of .333
The pitching had a shot in the arm from the new starter George Zettlien even if his ERA was poor. Zettlien started 6 games, winning 4, in which he pitched 50.1 innings. These work saw him give up 62 hits and 25 earned runs for an ERA of 4.47. The team gave up a total of 63 runs.
The team traded 30 year old Short Stop Dickie Flower to the Boston Red Caps in exchange for 22 year old Minor League Left Fielder Harry Wheeler.
The team then traded 32 year old first baseman Jim Foran and 22 year old minor league Left Fielder Harry Wheeler to the Philadelphia Athletics in exchange for 29 year old Catcher Jim O'Rourke. O'Rourke has been out of favour in Philadelphia and is hoping a change of team will spark his career back to life.
The team traded 24 year old minor league Right Fielder Jerry Dorgan and 24 year old minor league left fielder Ed Hengle to the St Louis Brown Stockings in exchange for veteran 35 year old pitcher George Zettlien. Zettlien is coming towards the end of his career and the fans hope he has a couple of good seasons left in him to help the team towards some wins.
