The fans of the St Louis Brown Stockings are starting to see a pattern emerging from the 1880 season. This is due to the fact that their team again mamanged to play a slightly below average month of baseball. The team picked up 6 wins and 7 losses during the month. This has left them 3rd in the AL table 9 games behind the leading Blues.

The batting was a mixed bag all month as they scored 69 runs. The star with the hot bat during the month was Second Baseman Henry Luff. Luff started 12 of the 13 games and had 53 at bats. These at bats saw him connect with 20 balls and score 10 runs with 9 RBI's His average for the month was .377. The AL Voters decided to award him the AL Batter of the Month award for these figures.

The pitching continued to be steady during the month. The best pitcher was again Larry Corcoran. He won 4 of the 7 games he started, pitching 61 innings. He gave up 61 hits and 18 earned runs for an ERA of 2.66. The team gave up a total of 63 runs.

Catcher Buck Ewing was sidelined for 2 weeks during the month with back tightness.

The team trade 25 year old Relief Pitcher Harry Salisbury to the Chicago White Stockings in exchange for 19 year old minor league Centre Fielder Leonadis Lee, 24 year old minor league Second Baseman Bill Fouser and 22 year old minor league Catcher Charlie Ahearn. The fans are not quite sure what to make of this trade.

Went 1-1 to finish road trip to the Cleveland Blues 1-6 and 7-4
2-1 at home to the Baltimore Orioles 12-1, 3-8 and 5-1
2-1 on the road to the Philadelphia Athletics 2-4, 9-4 and 9-5
0-3 at home to the Cleveland Blues 5-12, 0-10 and 2-3
went 1-1 to start road trip to the Baltimore Orioles 1-4 and 13-4
