1st July
The fans of the Athletics have already resigned themselves to another year without the pennant and are now just hoping that the form can turn around so that they don't finish bottom of the table. June did not give them that turn around they were hoping for as the team won only 5 of the 13 games played. They now sit bottom of the AL table 13 games from the leaders and 4 games behind 3rd place.
The batting was up and down over the month as it scored 55 runs. The batter with the best figures was star Centre Fielder Paul Hines. Hines went to bat 52 times in 13 game starts to pick up 18 hits. These hits produced 6 runs and 4 RBI's for an average of .346
The pitching tried its best during the month but was a little wayward. The best came from starter Tom Healey. He pitched 44.1 innings in 6 games to pick up 3 wins. He gave up 59 hits and 12 earned runs for an ERA of 2.44. The team gave up a total of 68 runs.
The team lost George Wood early in the month. He picked up Shoulder tendinitis which kept him out of the team for 2 weeks. He then picked up a hip flexor injury after his return that has him listed as day to day for the next 2 weeks.
