The anger and frustration the fans of the Brooklyn Atlantics have felt towards their team over the years is again building this season. The team had a terrible month in May as they picked up only 4 wins from the 14 played. This has left them bottom of the NL table, 9 games behind the leading White Stockings.
The batting was terrible during the month as they managed to score only 47 runs. The best of the full time starters was Centre Fielder Hardy Richardson. Richardson started all 14 games and came to the plate 57 times. These plate appearances had him hitting 18 times for 3 runs and 7 RBI's for an average of .316
The pitching had a tough time during the month. The best was Harry McCormick. McCormick pitched 58.1 innings in 7 game starts for 3 wins. He gave up 62 hits and 15 earned runs for an ERA of 2.31. The team gave up 73 runs during the month.
The Only Nolan was injured at the end of the month. He was diagnosed with a strained back and will miss 2 weeks of the season.
