The fans of the Blues saw the good form from August disappear again in September as their team sunk back to bottom of the AL table. The team managed to pick up only 3 wins from the 9 games they played while losing 6. This leaves them 2 games behind 3rd placed St Louis with only 3 games to play.

The batting was up and down all month as they scored 40 runs. The hot bat for the month was in the hands of Left Fielder Dave Eggler. Eggler started all 9 games and had 37 at bats. These at bats were used by him to hit the ball 12 times. He scored 4 runs with 7 RBI's for an average of .324.

Charlie Bennett was voted AL Rookie of the month after picking up an average of .263 from 9 game starts.

Will White had a tough month from the mound in September. He started 8 games and pitched 62.1 innings. He gave up 77 hits and 24 earned runs for an ERA of 3.47. The team gave up a total of 69 runs.

The team started with a 2-1 series win against the Baltimore Orioles 1-8, 5-4 and 1-0
The next series saw them lose 1-2 against the Philadelphia Athletics 7-13, 8-6 and 10-11
The final series saw the team swept 0-3 against the St Louis Brown Stockings 2-14, 5-6 and 1-7
