1st September 1878

The fans of the Brown Stockings are angrily writing letters to this paper and also the owner of the club as they saw their team's season fall apart in August. The team managed to pick up only 2 wins during the month while losing 8. This saw them drop to joint third in the AL table 8 games behind the leaders.
