Spring Training:
The injury bug has struck the Cavaliers...

We had our first injury of the season. Losing Jeff Lewis, last years Silver Slugger award winner for 6 weeks with a fractured rib. Leo Lawson will play CF and Sergio Galvez will head to RF. Lawson may start the year on the big-roster. Lewis will miss the first 3 weeks of the regular season.

Dalton Whitaker has been on waviers and no one has show any interest. He is now injured by won't miss much time, unfortuatley. I would of liked to send him down for a rehab assignment, but me some time. But due to some injuries he will start the season on the big league roster... makes me nervous. Whitaker will be on the roster for maybe a month, Coronado will be abck in 2 weeks, and then a final decision will need to be made... releasing Whitaker will cost me $25,100,000. I really messed up with him.

Taheiji Otani was supposed to solidfy our bullpen, but as luck goes, Taheiji tore his labrum and will miss the season. He is out 11-12 months.

Felipe Mora, Yoebli Mosca, Robinson Lopez, John Stewart and Mario Gomez all missed time with minor injuries. Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

Roster Cuts:
These decisions weren't that tough, this team just isn't as deep as it once was. I was expecting more from Sanchez and Ratishvili, but they will still have a future in the bullpen... As for the hitters, Franco has a bright future, the others not overly they are just on the roster for depth purposes. This team really isn't deep, and that may pose a problem... Looking back, I may have made a mistake trading Mario Reyes or Steve Wallace, but thats hindsight.

Pitchers:
Alberto Sanchez 9.2 IP, 17.69 ERA
Jimmy Jones: 13.0 IP, 8.31 ERA
Tariel Ratishvili 16.2 IP, 4.32, 10 walks

Hitters:
Yoelbi Mosca .353-0-2 (17 AB)
Carlos Franco .214-0-1 (28 AB)
Felipe Mora .167-0-4 (36 AB)
John Stewart .300-1-6 (40 AB)
Pete Alexander .500-0-1 (2 AB)

Thoughts/News:
I feel like I put together a pretty decent team, but the bullpen does worry me. The pen has always been a strong point, but over the past 2 years I have had to make a couple of trades and its really affected my depth. I will have Whitaker and Ramirez on the opening day roster. Ramirez doesn't scare as much. Overall, I am a little nervous about this team, the depth and the bullpen, mostly. If we can stay healthy we should be alright... and I would be surprsied if the bullpen gets blown up by years end... if they don't perform.
