FLA - Bonehead has Coach Pauwelyn and Coach Ramsay in the "War Room" as the Panthers just made an offer to the Islanders for D Calvin DeHaan (6.5b/7.0b) and LW Anders Lee (6.0c/7.0c) in a deal for D M. Gilroy (6.0a) and C Drew Shore (6.0a/7.0a). Bonehead and Coach Pauwelyn think it will be rejected but negotiations are possible.

In the other trade expedition Bonehead was working the phones with the Sharks GM Doug Wilson, who is in dire straits but is nevertheless known as a shrewd negotiator. GM Wilson told Bonehead to put together a reasonable offer and send it to him - youth is preferred and everyone on the Sharks is available for the right price. Bonehead is emboldened by the owners talk today that the budget can handle some additional load and he welcomes trades as long as we are not giving up prized prospects or draft picks. Bonehead offers G Tim Thomas to bolster the Sharks beleaguered goaltending woes, committing the Panthers to G Markstrom as the future, and D Dimitri Kulikov (6.5a/7.5a) who already is asking for $5M+ for a contract, In exchange Bonehead asked for "The Big T" 34 y/o C Joe Thornton (8.0b), LW John McCarthy (6.5d) a defensive minded forward and minor league G T. Grosenick (5.5d/6.0d).

Both Coaches think The Sharks will turn down the offer but again it will probably be open to negotiation... Standing by while the coaches start filing in for tonight's pregame tactics meeting.
