The Athletics form pretty good for the last couple of months and has pushed the team past the winning post in the AL pennant race. This is the teams 3rd pennant in 3 seasons and sees the fans hailing a team that could turn into the AL's strongest team of the decade. The team picked up 7 wins and 2 losses during the month.

The Pitching of George Bradley was solid again in September. He started all 9 games and pitched 81 innings. This work load saw him give up 76 hits and 22 earned runs on his was to an ERA of 2.44. He picked up the Pitcher of the Month in the AL.

The batting picked up 51 runs during the month. The batter that put up the best figures for the month was Short Stop John Peters. Peter picked up 15 hits from 37 at bats in 9 game starts. This saw him claim 10 runs and 8 RBI's. He won the AL Batter of the Month award for these figures even with a worse average than his team mate Jim O'Rourke.

The Athletics played 9 games in September
The team started by beating the St Louis Brown Stockings 2-1. The scores were 3-4, 9-5 and 12-6
The next series saw the team win 2-1 against the Cleveland Blues 4-5, 4-1 and 8-2
They finished the month with a 3-0 sweep of the Baltimore Orioles. 6-4, 1-0 and 4-3

The Athletics have 3 games in October to warm up for the MLB Championship Series. We will bring you a regular season review once these have been played.
