I believe OOTP automatically goes by the current rules, so if you want the rules used in earlier World Series you have to do it manually.
Here's how DH usage has been handled in the World Series:
1973-75, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1985: Not used in any games.
1976, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984: Used in all games.
1986-present: Only used in games played in AL club's park.
