I don't think they will. If they haven't released him outright after everything that has gone on with Aroid, I doubt they now. It's most likely related to the amount of money he is still owed through is entire contract, and I doubt they will want to eat 20+ mil salary for him not to play(how many years does he have left on his contract?).
On a side note, while I love seeing the Yankees get beat up over all the bad contracts they have, I do think they(and other teams as well) should be able to void contracts for those who test positive for PED's(namely steroids and hgh). If any of us were caught taking drugs or any illegal substance I doubt our employers would have any issues terminating us at their company. Not sure why sports players get the benefit of guaranteed contracts(excluding NFL).
