The batting produced a solid 66 runs during the month. The batter that produced the best month was Catcher Deacon White. White has started the season how he finished the last. He started all 9 games and had 37 plate appearances. These appearances saw him hit the ball into open space 12 times. This gave him an average of .324 and also saw him score 9 runs and 5 RBI's.
Jim Britt continues to be the NL pitcher that all others are judged by. He started all 9 games in April and pitched 76 innings. This work saw him hit 90 times and give up 16 earned runs for an average of 1.89. These figures were good enough to again see him voted the Pitcher of the Month in the NL. The team gave up 50 runs in the month.
