The Coyotes host the Ducks (20-23-3) for the 5th matchup of the season. The Ducks have a 3 point advantage over the Coyotes but the Coyotes do hold 3 games in hand against the Ducks. This will be a test for the Coyotes to see if they are able to come out and beat an opponent who they have been very good so far this season against (2-1-1).
Line Changes prior to the game:
D. Moss has taken the second line 5 on 4 and 5 on 3 PP over L. Korpikoski
The first period sees the Ducks lay waste to the Coyotes defence and they go up 5-1 on 12 shots. Smith took the quick exit and Backup Thomas Greiss came aboard!
The Second period sees a 1-1 to goals and the Ducks go into the third up 6-2. The Coyotes (who in the past few games have been doing great) are being outshot 29-18.
The Ducks add one more in the third and win this game in a landslide 7-2. outshooting the Coyotes 44-30. Coach Wells said after the game that this was a little hiccup in the plans of the Coyotes but they won't give up on the way they know they can play.

The Coyotes head out to Winnipeg tonight to take on the Jets (25-19-3). The Coyote are looking to jump back from what was a horrendous game against the Ducks.
What is a pretty defensive first period sees only a total of 11 shots being put on net and no goals. The Coyotes are playing a much better game then they did against the Ducks.
The Coyotes get on the board within the first 10 seconds of the second but give up a PP and ES goal to the Jets to go down 2-1 heading into the third. Unfortunately for the Coyotes they fell in the Defence aspect of the game giving up 13 shots and only getting 3 on net... Which is not good for the Coyotes.
The Coyotes are unable to pull the game to a tie and end this one in a 2-1 loss. getting outshot again 34-24. Coach Wells doesn't know what to do as he has exhausted his options for making his players play any better. It is rumoured that a huge lineup change is on the way!

The Coyotes lineups look a little different going into tonights back-to-back game against the St. Louis Blues (20-20-4).

Even after being outshot 13-6 the Coyotes finish the first period up 1-0 on a PP goal. The Coyotes new lines appear to be able to help keep the puck out of the net however they are still getting outshot like crazy.
The Second period sees the Blues continue to outshot the Coyotes and it has turned against them as the Coyotes go down 2-1 in the second period.
The Coyotes blow another game defensively and give up a crazy 43 shots! going down 5-3! Coach Wells says he doesn't know what more he can do then try and do a shakeup that may motivate his players to wanna play the game of hockey!
