1st October 1875

The fans are unhappy as they saw their team again fall back to the poor form they have showed at times this season. The team only had 2 wins and 6 losses in September to leave them out of the pennant race in second place in the AL table.

The batting misfired again as they only scored 39 runs. The best of the bad bunch was Catcher Cap Anson. Anson started all 8 games and had 34 at bats for 11 hits. This earned him an average of .324 along with 6 runs and 8 RBI's.

The pitching from George Zettlein saw his worst month all season. He picked up an ERA of 3.90 along with 70 hits and 24 earned runs against him. He did all this from 8 game starts and 55 innings pitched.
