We've placed three new owners (actually two old owners and a new owner) on vacant teams but we still have three openings. The league has just starting the 2004-2005 off-season, so it's a good time to take over a squad.
The San Francisco Giants play in a tough division but won 92 games in 2004 and the World Championship in 2003. Their minor league system is dry but their big-league team is filled with studs (Roy Oswalt, Mark Mulder, Francisco Cordero, Miguel Cabrera, Trot Nixon)
The Texas Rangers have had only one losing season since 1994. Unfortunately, it was last year. But they were under their pythags and should have finished at 82-80. So, they are pretty good right now but they also have the fifth best farm system in the game, featuring Curtis Granderson, Wade Davis, Matt Capps and Juan Francisco, Brendan Ryan, and Geovany Soto) Their starting staff is weak but headed by Chris Carpenter and their offense features Todd Helton, and OP players Mike Simms (.945 OPS) and Luis Gonzalez (.813 OPS).
The Cleveland Indians are a bit of project. They have the best player in the game, an aging-but-awesome OP Sammy Sosa (1.213 OPS in 2004), plus Jay Gibbons and a good reliever in Rafael Soriano. They've been a 78-85 win team for most of the last 15 year but a lack of good ownership has hurt them. Their farm system features Ian Desmond, Ryan Garko, Kyle Blanks, David Hernandez and a boosted Shawn Kelley but isn't particularly special.
