I think I've figured it out. Thanks for the replies, guys. I appreciate it. I never realized that the process I've been following for creating a historical uni was a lot less precise and a lot more complicated than it needed to be.

I feel like I do when I play OOTP baseball--no matter how long I've been playing, I'm always learning something new about the game.
