The batting came back to strong form in August with 85 runs scored. The best of the batting came from Second Baseman John Hatfield. Hatfield started all 10 games and had 49 at bats. These at bats produced 16 hits for an average of .327. He also gained 12 runs and 12 RBI's. These figures earned him the AL Batter of the Month award.

Cherokee Fisher had another solid month with the ball as he started 9 games and pitched 78.1 innings. These innings saw him give up 95 hits and 30 earned runs for an ERA of 3.45. Even with these figures the AL deemed his performance good enough to award him the Pitcher of the Month award. Jack Manning started the other game. The team gave up 62 runs during the month.
