The fans of the Athletics are starting to worry their team may be losing out in the pennant race as they struggled through a tough July. The team picked up only 3 wins in July and 6 losses. This has left the team in 3rd place in the AL table, 4 games behind the Baltimore Canaries.

Peters has been getting better every month and July was no difference as he started all 9 games and had 44 at bats. He picked up 17 hits along with 11 runs and 13 RBI's. This gave him an average of .386. These figures were enough for him to be voted the AL Batter of the Month and also AL Rookie of the Month for July.
The pitching of Dick Mcbride continued to show some form as he kept his ERA down to 2.56 from 9 starts and 70.1 innings pitched. He gave up 87 hits and 20 earned runs. The team gave up 62 runs during the month.
