The fans of the Canaries are starting to see their team take control of the Al pennant race as they moved 3 games clear in July. The team picked up 7 wins and only 2 losses during the month to move them clear.

The batting was quieter than last month scoring 60 runs. The best of the batting came from Catcher Fergy Malone. Malone had 41 at bats in 9 game starts. These at bats produced 16 hits, 7 runs and 9 RBI's. This gave him an average of .390 for the month.

The pitching of Cherokee Fisher was the reason for the good month as he picked up the AL Pitcher of the Month again. He won this award with an ERA of 3.38 from 8 game starts. He pitched 66.2 innings during the month, giving up 72 hits and 25 earned runs. Jack Manning started the other game. The team gave up 48 runs in total.

The team had the following players selected to the AL All Star Squad. Pitchers Cherokee Fisher and Jack Manning, Catcher Fergy Malone, Second Baseman John Hatfield, Third Baseman LipPike, Short Stop George Wright and Centre Fielder George Bird.

The players who got the start in the AL's 10-7 win were George Wright, Lip Pike and Fergy Malone

Fred Cone returned from injury at the end of the month.

The Canaries played 9 games in July
They started with a 12-8 win against the Philadelphia Athletics
Following the All Star break the team beat the St Louis Brown Stockings 2-1. The scores were 6-5, 7-3 and 2-6
The team won the next series 2-1 against the Cleveland Blues. The scores were 6-9, 7-2 and 3-0
The final 2 games of the month were won 11-10 and 6-5 against the Philadelphia Athletics.
