I'm sure Markus and team know what they should be focusing on and what is a waste of "valuable programming time". I am also sure that they know the difference between something that just a "few loud people" want vs something that is worthwhile to spend time on.
How about we simply post our suggestions and wants without all the venom-filled arguments.

It's not a crusade. It's a response to poorly made proposals often with little justification and/or evidence to support them. What would you suggest I do? Just be quiet?
I tried not to oppose features I wasn't interested in for a couple of versions. This was unsatisfactory to me because silence seemed (no sinister motive claimed) to be equated with agreement. Many features proposed did not fit my views at all and were often arcade type features based on flawed concepts of realism. Many appeared to be exploit switches designed to reduce the need to work at core game concepts in favor of a fantasy/role playing game that is more about personality constructs (reality show?) and less about baseball. I don't like that concept and have every right to question it.
I completely understand that Markus must be responsive to a new and significantly younger customer base and that many features not interesting to me are completely justified. Since there is a finite amount of resources and time it's equally justified for me to challenge proposals that are based on sloppy thinking one-way logic and limited or no evidence of how they should work. I see nothing wrong with challenging assumptions including my own and for seeking some justification for certain proposals that goes past the, "I think it enhances realism" line. I have the right to say show me the "why" and the "how" and be held to the same standard for my own proposals.
It's interesting that you claim "crusaders" are seeking to tell Markus how to spend his time. Don't all proposals seek the same thing?
