The fans of the Athletics enjoyed a wonderful month in June. The team produced a record of 7-3 in June to see them move back to being joint top in the AL along side the Baltimore Canaries in a tight pennant race.

The batting had a wonderful month as they scored 99 runs. The best of these was Left Fielder John Glenn. Glenn started 8 games and had 37 at bats. These at bats produced an average of .459 as he claimed 17 hits, 12 runs and 6 RBI's. These figures earned hom the Batter of the Month award in the AL.

The pitching of Dick McBride was again in excellent form. He pitched 79 innings in 10 game starts. These innings saw him give up 87 hits and 15 earned runs for an ERA of 1.71. This earned him the AL Pitcher of the Month award. The team gave up a total of 58 runs.

The team completed the clean sweep of awards for the month as Rookie John Peters picked up the Rookie of the Month award for the AL with an average of .283 from 10 game starts.

The team lost Fred Treacey mid month with shoulder inflammation. He is expected to be out for 6 weeks.

The Athletics played 10 games in June
They started with 2 wins against the Baltimore Canaries 9-7 and 10-3
The series against the Cleveland Blues was won 2-1. The scores were 4-6, 15-1 and 10-6
The next series saw the team win 2-1 against the St. Louis Brown Stockings. The scores were 14-3, 4-9 and 12-2
They finished with a win and a loss against the Baltimore Canaries 14-15 and 7-6

The team will play 9 games in June and also take the All Star Break. We will bring you a full report of this next month.
