Taking a brief interlude from the introduction of the Premier League teams I wanted to talk about Jumbo McGinnis briefly. In real life McGinnis went 102-79 in six seasons with a 2.95 ERA, but in this universe McGinnis turned into the all-time career win leader with 571.
There is a divide between the Premier League stats, and pre-Premier League stats, and unfortunately for the Worcester Hearts they've fallen all the way down to League B after going from 1871-1893 while never finishing lower than 4th place. McGinnis was a big part of that success, and while I haven't decided exactly how to handle pre-1901 players at a minimum I figured I should honor him with a retired jersey(even though there really wasn't uniform numbers back then) -
I'm sure when the Hall of Fame opens he'll warrant some more conversation, but that's a way off.
