I want to be hired and fired as a manager, not as a GM. For example, if Dan Duquette does end up in Toronto in real life, I doubt that means the Orioles also get rid of Showalter. I know I can get something like this by letting the AI handle transactions, but in the end I'm still evaluated as a GM by OOTP. It would be cool if I could sign a contract to manage the Tigers for _______ number of year and when that time is up, I would either be offered a new contract or have to hope I'm hired by another MLB team.
To start out, I would be happy to simply be hired, evaluated and fired based simply on my ability as a manager. Later, Markus could add things to manager mode that would add to the experience. Let's say I manage a team and all my players are always angry due to their role, place in the order etc. The GM and owner could evaluate this and it could end up a strike against me. The AI GM could email me the manager telling me know he wants __________ in the lineup and not listening could be another strike against me.
But in the end, Jim Leyland retired after the 2013 season. Last I checked Dave Dombrowski is still the GM.
