I really like this
Brewers team, but I don’t know how they got here with the current state of their pitching. Both
Mike Scott and
Doyle Alexander are out, leaving the remains of an awful rotation.
Dean Palmer is horrible.
Eduardo Rodriguez is bad, and
Ed Halicki is a number 3, masquerading as a number 1 right now. This team does have a ton of speed.
Ricky Henderson and
Lonnie Smith combined for more steals then the whole
Cubs team! Speed plays against any pitching staff, which is a huge advantage for
Milwaukee.
The
Cubs have great pitching, with
Tom Seaver,
Catfish Hunter, and
Bob Shirley. The
Cubs have a massive amount of power, with 5 players recording more than 2 bombs. This powerful offense up against the
Brewers staff should be no contest. Injuries make the
Cubs heavy favourites, but as we saw last year, anything can, and often happens.
