The Athletics managed to get a slightly better month in August as they posted a record of 4-3. This leaves them bottom of the AL table but keeps them in mathematical contention for the AL pennant even if it is unlikely the fans will see them win the title.

The team scored 66 runs during the 7 games played. The best of these was First Baseman Everett Mills. Mills started 6 games and had 27 at bats. He gleaned 10 hits, 6 runs and 9 RBI's from these at bats to give him an average of .370

The pitching was solid like normal. Dick McBride posted an ERA of 2.90 for the month from 7 game starts. He pitched 49.2 innings and gave up 64 hits and 16 earned runs. The team gave up a total of 63 runs during the month

They started with a 2-1 series win against the Cleveland Blues. The scores were 11-10, 14-9 and 5-16
The next series saw the team win 2-1 against St. Louis. The scores were 8-6, 9-10 and 16-5
They finished with a 3-7 loss against the Baltimore Canaries
