While the Athletics continue to push the Baltimore Canaries hard for the AL title, they have let it slip slightly in the last month or so. The team produced an average August with a record of 4-5 to leave them 2.5 games behind the leaders.

The batting was solid as it picked up 54 runs on the month. The best of these was Third Baseman Andy Leonard. Leonard had 37 at bats which produced 14 hits for an average of .378. This run included 5 runs and 4 RBI's

The pitching of Dick McBride continues to show solid performance. He pitched all 9 games to produce an ERA of 2.25. In 80 innings of work he gave up 88 hits and 20 earned runs. The team gave up a total of 51 runs.

They then won the series against the Cleveland Forest City's 2-1. Scores were 5-4, 6-7 and 8-1
They finished with 2 losses to the St. Louis Brown Stockings 3-9 and 2-3
