The Athletics struggled slightly during the month of July. They posted a record of 4-3 in the month. This was enough to keep them in second place in the AL table but they have slipped back to 1.5 games behind the leading Baltimore Canaries.

The batting scored 49 runs during the month. The best came from Catcher Doug Allison. Allison posted an excellent average of .484 during the month. He managed 15 hits, 5 runs and 7 RBI's from 31 at bats.

Dick McBride has continued to produce from the mound in July. He posted an ERA of 3.39 from the 7 games played. He pitched 61 innings and gave up 76 hits and 23 earned runs. The team gave up a total of 48 runs in the month.

The players called up for the All Star game included Pitcher Dick McBride, Second Baseman Jimmy Wood, Short Stop Jim H O'Rourke and Left Fielder Fred Treacey

The players that started for the losing AL team were Fred Treacey, Jim H O'Rourke and Dick McBride

The Athletics played 7 games in July
They started with a win and a loss against the Baltimore Canaries. The scores were 4-3 and 6-10
They then had 3 games against the Cleveland Forest City's. They won 2 and lost 1. The scores were 15-11, 8-5 and 1-7
They then finished with 2 games against the St. Louis Brown Stockings. They won 1 and lost 1 of these. The scores were 8-2 and 7-10

The team has 9 games in August and we will give you a full report next month.
