Monthly Review
Despite clinching the division, the Padres appear to be limping into the playoffs. After a stellar August, San Diego has posted another losing month with a record of 13-14. Still, the team is tied for the second best record in the league at 92-66. The pitching staff remains in top form, but the offense has struggled as of late; contributing to the team’s issues. They say that pitching and defense wins championships, and San Diego has those in abundance. But can the team produce enough runs to make it through the playoffs?
