St. Louis fans will be hoping that their team can still win the AL pennant as we go into the last month of the season. They managed a 3-2 month in August which saw them fall behind Baltimore by 3 games. King also picked up the Batter of the Month award for the AL.

The best of the regular batters was Short Stop Marshall King. He averaged .429 on the month. He had 9 hits from 21 at bats and gained 6 runs and 10 RBI's. George Zettlein had another excellent month with the bat even though he is a pitcher.

His pitching though still struggled a little as he posted an ERA of 3.38. He did this from 40 innings pitched where he gave up 49 hits and 15 earned runs. The team gave up 37 runs in total.

Bill Barrett and George Ewell were put on waivers mid month but neither were claimed by any other team.
