The Indianapolis Crusaders’ Ben Marsh saw his hitting streak come to an end today. Marsh went 0-5 in the team’s victory over the Mets. He reached 29 games.

Bryan Hoeing tossed a complete game shutout against the Cubs today. He surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 4 in the 6-0 victory. Despite showing glimpses of his past form, Hoeing has struggled this season. He currently sits on a 5-4 record with a 4.18 ERA.
In other news around the league, 1B James Robbins of the White Sox collected his 2000th hit. For his career, Robbins has a .270 BA with 462 HR, 1410 RBI, and 2000 H. Also today, Atlanta’s Xander Bogaerts hit home run #300. A busy day around the league.

The injury bug strikes again for San Diego. 2B Chris “Ant” McKinney was taken out of today’s game against the A’s due to pain in his shoulder. The word on the street is that he is suffering from shoulder tendinitis and will miss a minimum of 5 weeks.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced the firing of GM Alfredo Felix and manager Kevin Rogers. The club has fallen on hard times as of late and felt that a change was necessary. Arizona is currently sitting in last place in the NL West, and has finished last in 2 of the previous 3 years.
Monthly Review
Despite a hot start in April, the Padres continue to slow down. The team played slightly better than .500 ball for the month, going 14-12 in June. The team is still in 1st place in the West, but they are now just 1.5 games ahead of the 2nd place Giants. San Diego’s record for the season stands at 46-31.
