Confederation of European Baseball for OOTP 15

24 Nations, 52 Leagues, and 522 teams are represented in this year's version. The champions of the 24 top-level leagues will face off in a playoff tournament to decide the winner of the Champions Cup.

What's real?

Logos, uniforms, playoff structures*, park names**, league structures***.

What's fictional?

Rosters, roster rules****, schedules, financials, park dimensions, and factors.

What's changed?
  • Latvia is no longer represented - from what I could find, the top tier only fielded 3 teams and I felt that was just too few for them to qualify. They have been replaced by the Norges Baseball Liga of Norway. Lower-level leagues have been added and removed from the other 23 countries as appropriate.
  • Financials have been adjusted so that teams aren't as profitable as they were in the previous verison, and the more powerful countries and higher-tier leagues will be more profitable than the lower leagues. This is done on a rough curve to attempt to foster realistic player movement.
  • The QuickStart now takes advantage of OOTP 15's League Reputation settings. The top tier leagues are at least a 5, and at most a 10. Lower-tier leagues go from 2-5. Again, this should help with somewhat realistic player movement. Both the financials and reputation are based loosely on IBAF's rankings.
  • The top tier leagues are set as International, and lower-tier leagues are set to Winter League, College & High School levels as necessary. This should prevent the talent in the lower tiers from being better than the talent in the top tiers. All leagues have PCM's set, as well.
  • The rules in place last year to limit the number of foreign players has been disabled, although it's easy enough to turn it back on (one check box will take care of all the teams in the League Association).

* - League playoffs are as realistic as OOTP will allow, and are accurate as far as I can find. Some leagues have a quasi-split season where the top X clubs have a round robin tournament to determine the final playoff spots, and OOTP just can't do that. Additionally, some countries feature a "playdown" series between the 2-4 lowest finishers in the top tier, with the playdown loser having to win a Relegation Series against the second tier champion in order to stay in the top tier. Obviously, OOTP doesn't model these scenarios, although you could manually schedule these sorts of things if you're ambitious.

** - Most of them, anyways. Some of them, I didn't bother tracking them down or trying to translate them. Such is life.

*** - I may not be perfect. I think it's pretty close.

**** - All the leagues are set to 25-man rosters with a 20 player reserve roster. They are all limited to a 15-man International Complex - the game shouldn't generate many international free agents, but I couldn't set it any lower than 15.

Anyhow, if you want to play around with it, you can download it here:

In order to keep the file size down, it's a .7z file, which compresses to about half the size of a regular zip file. You can extract it with the 100% free, open source, safe and reputable 7-zip.

Special thanks to cheo25, who provided schedules for some of the oddly-sized leagues. I managed to cobble a few of them together myself, although they all appear to check out alright.

Have fun!
