Cavaliers News:
Injuries:
Mario Gomez bruised his knee and will miss 1-2 weeks... to take his roster slot Rafael Rodriguez was called up. He will join the pen until AgRod is ready then will be sent back down.

Augusto Rodriguez, Strained Oblique, 2 days
Alejandro Diaz, Fractured Thumb, 3 days

Other/Roster News:
Miguel Contreras gave up 10 hits for the second time this season and 5 runs for the first. He is having yet another steallar year.

GM Notes:
With the injury to Gomez, Mauro Candelaria will get a few starts, at least until Augusto Rodriguez returns from the DL. Should be early this week. Mauro hasn't been happy with his role this season with the Cavaliers, playing only part time. Due to a pluthera of injuries I didn't feel like starting him was a good idea. I will be curious to see where he ends up next year after he becomes a free agent. He has been an important member of the Cavaliers family since 2013, collecting 1222* hits, 226* dboubles, 500 RBI, 619* Runs and playing 1163* games. * are Cavaliers records, as of today.

Matt Hollis seems to be dealing, after struggling the 2nd half last season and some of the first part of this year. He has just bene lights out after the all-star break. And with him throwing as he is, this rotation keeps getting better. If Hollis and Brown win 2 more games this will be our first season we have 5 starters with 15+ wins. Prety impressive.

According to my scout we have 5 players in AAA ready to move on up. I just don't have room for them. 4 pitches, and one position player. Goes to show you how deep the AAA team is. As you move down our minor league system it gets weaker, but we should be good for next season. I am really curious about what will become of this organization's minors in 2-3 years. I could dump Hollis and Lewis this off-season and get some good youth... would that really be worth it however.

Six more weeks before the playoffs. I am feeling good about this team.

Around the League:
Standings Leaders
DE Southern: Lewes Braves 84-40 (+14)
DE Northern: Milford Clippers 68-56 (+4)
MV Eastern: Baltimore Barons 70-54 (+4)
MV Western: Norfolk Cavaliers 87-37 (+22)

Players of the Week:
Delaware: Tim Barber (Christiana Blue Hens) 10-29, 4 HR's, 9 RBI's
MarVa: Matt Martin (Salisbury Ports) 11-27, 3 HR's, 10 RBI's

Power Rankings:
1) Norfolk Cavaliers (133.3)
2) Lewes Braves (130.9)
3) Baltimore Barons (112.6)
4) Milford Clippers (102.7)
5) Dover Generals (100.6)

News:
Not much happend around the leageue this week. The Lewes Braves are on fire, opening up a 14 game lead over the 2nd place Generals. And the Baltimore Barons took advantage of a bad week by the Blue Crabs and slow week by the Tourists to take back over 1st. That division should be fun th rest of the way.
