While you always have to take spring results with a grain of salt, the Padres did manage to post the second best Spring Training record in the MLB at 20-8. These early results have fan abuzz, although Padres owner John Moores seems to be expecting a drop off. Rumors are that he only expects the team to play .500 ball – surprising since the team is coming off of the heels of a great run last season. The players will surely be giving it their all, but with the team strapped for cash, midseason struggles may see a shakeup with the roster.
