I hadn't thought of that before, but it's so true. By then they should be fitting him with a robotic leg!
It does suck to lose such a promising player, but it happens in real life too, so you can't ask the developers to "fix" it.
OTOH I once had a very promising player whose career was ended by a concussion. I hated it, but it happens in real life. The problem was that it takes months in real life to see when someone is not recovering from a concussion, and in this case they diagnosed him with a career ending injury
the same day!
