Peter Alexander: .100, 1 HR, last 5 games
Injuries:
King Brock, Broken Foot, 2 weeks
Other News:
Alejando Diaz was promoted to AAA Yokohama. He will split time with Mark Bolton behind the plate.
John Phillips was prompted form AAA to the Cavaliers. Phillips who has been a back-up catcher for the Cav's for the past 3 years, could be seeing his final days in a Cavaliers uniform. In 75 AAA games Phillips has hit .255-4-27.
Mario Reyes will rejoin the Cavaliers, aftering slumping early with the Cav's Mario has hit the ball well in AAA, putting up .354-10-54. He will see some time around the infield giving Tom Anderson a break at 3B for one.
At the end of the week the Cavaliers called up Tom Dundee from AAA. Dundee will be penciled in as our starting RF'erer, moving Jeff Lewis from RF to LF and Sergio Galvez to the bench. Galvez will play ever 2-3 days behind Dundee, but we want Dundee to get his swings. Dundee finished his AAA season .319-42-124.
GM Notes:
Francisco Gallegos is starting to hit the ball better, which is good, only 5 more doubles for the record. Hopefully he will get some good swings over the final 4 weeks. Going to be tough to get to the record.
I am surprised to see Miguel with 18 wins, he has a shot at getting to 20. He should get 3 more starts, and the way he has thrown the ball things are looking good for him. The rest of the starters are doing alright, they all just seem to be struggling to get run support. Hopefully we will see that change with Brock due back in 2 weeks and with Dundee in the lineup.
I would like to bring up a few more guys, but I would also like to win that AAA title.
Manager Allastair Turcotte who has been here since 2013, first as the bench coach, then the Manager is on the hot seat. The Cav's have a solid bullpen mostly underworked and he is going to throw Dalton the day after he threw 2 innings? He pitched in 4 of 5 games and he has struggled this season. His use of the bullpen has been frustrating ever since he has taken over, but when you win, you win and its hard to frown upon that. If we don't win we are going to move on, our Bench coach Aurthur Ray is ready to take over the helm.
We have to right this offensive ship over the next 3 weeks, to have any hopes of beating the Barons in the MarVa Championship.
