2048 IPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Game 3

RATTLERS ROCK DIAMONDS WITH 3 HRS 9-3
For the second day in a row, the big bats of the Sugar Valley Rattlers put it to the Claxton Diamonds to take a 2-1 edge in the Ruthlandian League Championship Series... the Rattlers cracked three home runs in the 9-3 thrashing... that gave them seven homers in two days... Roy Hobbs hammered a three-run shot in the seventh that broke open a tight 4-3 game... Joe Snow (2-1/2.78) went the distance for the victory, scattering nine hits and three runs... Gilbert Clagsdale (1-1/5.28) went down to defeat, being tagged for six runs and eight hits in six-plus frames, leaving the game behind 6-3.
Sugar Valley rapped 13 hits in all with LF Jeff Harvey (.471) going 3-5, scoring twice and driving across a pair of scores, 3B Roger Hobbs (.281) socked two hits and drove in three, RF Bobby Gamble (.290) was 2-5 with two runs and an RBI and C Delmer Campbell (.258) had two hits and two RBIs... Gamble got his fifth postseason homer, Hobbs his third and Harvey his second... Campbell now leads the club with 9 runs batted in.
1B Jojo DeLucca (.367) paced Claxton with three hits in four tries, two RBIs and a run scored... DeLucca hit his first playoff homer and now has 12 RBIs, tops in the postseason... CF Darryl Daniels (.355) also chipped in with 3-4 and two runs scored... and rookie LF Whit Miley (.438) went 2-4 and drove in a run.

REDS NEAR SWEEP, ROCK SOX 7-2
Seven straight postseason wins... the Rolling Hills Reds are really rolling... after taking four in a row to finish off High Mesa in round one... for the third successive game they have disposed of the the powerful Southport Sun Sox in relatively easy fashion... the Reds backed up solid pitching by Steve Adams with 15 hits and rocked the defending Pro Cup titlist 7-2... a five-run first gave Adams (2-0/3.00) all the runs he needed... he stopped the Sox on just two runs and eight hits, went the route, struck out five batters and walked two.
The top bats for Rolling Hills were C Kyle Edwards (.344) and SS Chris Hicks (.615) each with three hits in five at-bats... CF Will Sanders (.324), RF Vic Scott (.407) and 2B Randy Watling (.278) all added two hits apiece to the attack... Southport starter Brandon Delmore (1-1/5.79) didn't make it out of the first inning... he was shelled for four runs and four hits and didn't get an out... Delmore departed due to an injury.
