YANKEES, RACERS CLINCH TIE FOR TITLE
The New York Yankees and Indianapolis Racers need one more win to clinch their respective divisions outright, after wins yesterday in the last week of the major league season.
Meanwhile, the Nevada Silverhawks and Los Angeles Dodgers are tied atop the division with a magic number of 2. If either team wins while the other loses, the other team will clinch a tie, meaning the worst they can do is have a playoff for the division title.
"It's an exciting time to be a baseball fan," said Board of Governors chair Bob Costas.
