Ted Simmons (.425, 4 RBI) leads a St. Louis assault with two singles, a double, and a triple - scoring three times and driving in another two as the Cardinals rout Atlanta, 11-4. Willie Crawford (.364, 1 HR, 6 RBI) hits a grand slam too add to the offensive destruction while starter Eric Rasmussen (1-2, 5.00 ERA) allows five hits and three runs (two earned) in eight innings to score the win. Jim Wynn (.152, 2 HR, 3 RBI) and Ken Henderson (.333, 3 HR, 12 RBI) each hit solo home runs for the Braves.
