Some sort of closure would be good instead of if, buts and maybes.
There's a saying - S**t or get off the pot, which means a person should follow up their stated intentions with action.
Its been a quarter of a year (in 5 days) since the last patch. Over 3 months since we've had the tease of a final patch to make the game enjoyable.
If you've got it ready.. release it and let the players finally play their game. If you haven't, then just scrap it, let people know its not coming and fully focus on your next game.
All you're doing right now is hurting your brand. You've become the equivalent of that girl in school that claims she'l let you touch her boob if you do her homework, and then keep finding excuses not to. What a tease!
