I know OOTP doesn't do the whole "moving up the ladder" thing very well, but I figured I would try it just the same. Things are a little tricky since I am managing at the lowest level of the minors, and as a result I have 50 players to choose from, instead of the normal 25, and most of them have very little history to go on. (I am playing with stats-only.)

So the season starts out OK. I get to 5-6. Owner thinks I should be .500. Then I proceed to lose 5 out of the next 6 to get to 6-11. Luckily, I have a series coming up against the 2-15 Tijuana Potros, so hopefully I can make some hay. Right? Nope. Game one, we lose 1-0. Eight hits, no runs. Game two, it's 15-2, we are out of it by the second inning. Game three, we finally have the lead heading into the 9th, 4-3. They get a baserunner on with two outs, and a .220 hitting lefty SS at the plate, so I put what I believe is my top lefty in to face him. Playing the matchups, should be good, right? Nope, 2-run walkoff HR.

Sigh. So here I sit in my inaugural campaign on May 1st or so, at 6-14. Oof.
Steve, you've been playing OOTPB for how many years and you still think managing in the minor leagues is a good idea? Not frustrated yet by the almost daily roster fluctuations? What do you think the odds are of you still having a job in July, eh? "Oof" is right!
