Major League Baseball needs to establish clubs in the southern states. Being someone who currently lives in the south (raised in the North though), I can tell you that just about everyone in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Northern Florida roots for the Braves. The Braves are the team of the south and very much are currently representing the entire region.
Sure, Florida has two clubs, but let's be honest, Florida really isn't a traditional southern state. I think Major League Baseball should look into occupying one of the metros in the south like Charlotte, New Orleans, or Nashville.
The south is very passionate about their college baseball and there is a lot of ground that could be taken by a GM moving a team to one of those two cities. This is a region that sells more tickets for NCAA Baseball than any other region by a landslide. If SEC ticket sales are any indicator of the popularity of the sport in the south, then It might be a good move.
Just my two cents.
