GM Notes:
Dalton Whitaker picked up save 40 this week, making it 5 straight seasons. This year, however, he has posted his worst ERA (3.30) of those 5 years and the only time its been over 3... Jeff Lewis is our top hitter and a Silver Slugger candidate, I really hope he isn't out for much longer than a few days. If he misses the rest of the season, he will set the record for highest regular season batting average at .3830 besting the record set in 2018 at .3828. Rough way to break the record, however. Losing him would be huge... Matt Hollis has thrown 114 pitches per game, on average, 3 more pitches a game than last year. I think i am going to put him on a limit for the rest of the season, keep him fresh for the post season. He just doens't seem right of late, IMO... The offense has started to play the way I had hoped they would over the past few weeks. The young guys and the old guys are all hitting the ball well... Francisco Reyes seems like has hit a lot of solo-HR's of late... King Brock will be back with the team next week, so if we do lose Jeff Lewis for a long time, at least Brock will be back and ready for the playoffs. Seems like every year we end up losing one or two players for the playoffs. Dating back to the Pablo Freitas days...
