Every time I managed the Cardinals they were strong second half teams. Only the last season I played with them they hovered around .500 and in 3rd/4th place in the NL Central until the all star break, just to finish with the best record in the NL.
Slow starters can be frustrating early in the season, but I rather take those over hot starters that fade away and ultimately collaps in the second half of the season.
