August 11--Clyde Wright pitched seven shutout innings, striking out five, and Rick Reichardt lead the offense with a pair of hits and an RBI double as the Angels blanked the Sox, 2-0. (62-53)

August 12--Tom Satriano walked off with an RBI triple in the bottom of the 12th inning, giving the Angels the 2-1 win. Diego Segui pitched three shutout innings, striking out three, earning the win. Rico Carty drove in the only Sox run with an RBI double in the 7th. (62-54)
