July 26--Tom Satriano singled home Don Mincher in the eighth inning, giving the Angels the 3-2 win over the Sox. July 27--Rick Reichardt hit a three run homerun and Len Gabrielson added a two run shot as the Angels beat up on the Sox, 8-1. George Brunet went eight innings, giving up just five hits and one run, winning his 12th game of the season (53-46)

July 28, 29 (DH), 30, 31 v Minnesota Twins
July 28--4 separate Twins drove in a pair of runs, including Harmon Killebrew, who his his ML leading, 35th homerun of the year, helping Minnesota defeat Boston in a 11-8 slugfest. Rico Carty hit a three run homerun and Carl Yastrzemski added a solo shot in the loss. (53-47)

July 30-=Earl Battey drove home Graig Nettles, who had tripled, in the top of the 11th inning, giving the Twins the 5-4 win. Rico Carty had three hits, two doubles and two RBI and Carl Yastrzemski homered in the loss (55-48)

July 31--George Scott and Reggie Smith each homered twice, Scott driving in three and Smith, two, as Boston took 3 of 5 from the Twins, winning 8-5. Rookie Al Oliver continued his torrid start for Minnesota since being drafted, hitting his 7th homerun of the year, and improving his line to .414 (37-90) with seven homeruns and 21 RBI in just 29 games.
