IPA PREVIEW FOR NEW SEASON
The Islandian Pro Alliance will open its 47th campaign tomorrow afternoon at 32 sites around the Islands as 64 fervent clubs will try to dethrone the Pro Cup champion Hartsdale. The Hellcats captured their first-ever IPA crown by whipping the Valmara Vipers in a thrilling seven games. Hartsdale had to come back from a 3-2 deficit to win it.

HELLCATS PICKED TO REPEAT IN TU NORTH
Hartsdale dominated the Tycobbian North last season, romping and stomping everybody in sight. The Hellcats won easily by 15 games over second place Blue Lake. It won't be that way this year according to the baseball experts. Hartsdale will win, but in a fairly close race with Blue Sox. The other six clubs will be far off in the rear view mirror by season's end.

This Year's Prediction/Last Year Standings
1. Hartsdale Hellcats - Champion (98-56)
2. Blue Lake Blue Sox - 2nd (15 GB)
3. Fairfax Frogs - 4th (18 GB)
4. Oxford Red Caps - 6th (25 GB)
5. North Hill Hawks - 3rd (17 GB)
6. Luxora Zorros - 7th (29 GB)
7. White River Rascals - 5th (21 GB)
8. Mahaska Haymakers - 8th (38 GB)

SUN SOX CHOICE IN STRONG TU SOUTH
The Tycobbian South is just about the strongest division in the IPA. Last year six teams posted winning records with the title going to the Summerland Sunsets, who squeezed by in a five-team race. edging Southport by just a single game, San Alejo by three and Turon by five. The Ginza Ninjas trailed by only eight games in fifth place. Even sixth-place Cape Coral chalked a winning season with a 79-75 mark.

This season Southport is the solid choice to take the crown handily, perhaps by double digits. The Sun Sox have the superior mound staff and firepower to outdo San Alejo, expected to be the biggest challenger. The Montaneros have strong pitching and good bats, too. Last year's TU South title winner Summerland doesn't appear to have the same powerful pitching rotation of recent seasons. The Sunsets will fight it out with Turon and Cape Coral for third place.

This Year's Prediction/Last Year Standings
1. Southport Sun Sox - 2nd (1 GB)
2. San Alejo Montaneros - 3rd (3 GB)
3. Turon Typhoons - 4th (5 GB)
4. Summerland Sunsets - Champion (94-60)
5. Cape Coral Hurricanes - 6th (15 GB)
6. Ginza Ninjas - 5th (8 GB)
7. Arroyo Grande Suns - 7th (21 GB)
8. Colchester Elites - 8th (35 GB)

TUCKS BEST IN TU EAST
The professional pickers are forecasting a new champion in the Tycobbian East this season. The Tuckanarra Blue Jays are rated a good bet to knock off the Red Bluff Red Sox, who have won the last three pennants. Last year they whipped the Blue Birds by 11 games. However the Red Sox are not expected to ride off into the sunset quietly and they will certainly will be in the running along with the Hillsboro Blazers, the number three team last year. It looks like a pretty good three-team race.

The Blue Jays cannot match the Red Sox in heavy-duty firepower, but they can small ball you to death and have the best mound staff in the division. The Blazers have some long ball capability and good pitching just like Red Bluff. The Midway Wolves and High Mesa Cowboys will tangle for the fourth spot in the standings.

This Year's Prediction/Last Year Standings
1. Tuckanarra Blue Jays - 2nd (11 GB)
2. Red Bluff Red Sox - Champion (93-61)
3. Hillsboro Blazers - 3rd (15 GB)
4. Midway Wolves - 6th (24 GB)
5. High Mesa Cowboys -5th (22 GB)
6. South Fork Stallions - 4th (16 GB)
7. East Point Panthers - 8th (39 GB)
8. Ozarka Naturals - 7th (38 GB )

KENWOOD WINS AGAIN IN TU WEST
According to the media, the Kenwood Wildcats will rack up its fourth Tycobbian West title in a row and sixth in seven seasons. And the Wildcats will do it in comfortable fashion. They still are the best in the West with solid bats and solid pitching. Four other clubs will battle it out for second place. Chicopee, Rolling Hills, Denton City and Arlon are the best of the second-tier teams. Bay St. Clair, Bayview and La Claire are the also-rans.

This Year's Prediction/Last Year Standings
1. Kenwood Wildcats - Champion (92-62)
2. Chicopee Braves - 6th tied (24 GB)
3. Rolling Hills Reds - 3rd (13 GB)
4. Denton City Redbirds - 8th (30 GB)
5. Arlon Champions - 2nd (10 GB)
6. Bay St. Clair Buccaneers - 6th tied (24 GB)
7. Bayview Vikings - 5th (19 GB)
8. La Claire Lynx - 4th (16 GB)
