1945 World Series

The Red Sox take game one, 7-6, in a game where every Sox starter got a hit.

Harry Danning, Boston backup catcher, wins game two for the Sox, with a 2 run double in the 12. Final score 11-9. I don’t think Feller or Paige would have lost either of these games.

Pittsburgh is able to overcome a first inning, 3 run, Stan Musial home run, and wins the third game 6-4. The Pirates Dom DiMaggio knocked in 4.

Boston jumped out to a 5-0 lead, and were able to hold on to take game four 7-5. With Paige and Feller, this series is over.

Boston SS Al Rosen homers twice, as the Sox route the Pirates 9-4, and win the World Series in 5 games.
